So you mean that the patch you refer to will not solve my problem? If
not is there a fix for this, or a thread to follow?

I have a NEC USB2 card, is this to say USB2 on this hardware isn't
(fully?) supported yet because I thought it was. I'll compile the latest
kernel I can just for testing and see if this helps too.
