At this point it sounds like the USB transport is working correctly and 
the data is going to/from the burner okay.  It may be that the DVDs end up 
unreadable because of some error in the way the DVD-writer application is 
used.

Check your system log for error messages from usb-storage.  If there 
aren't any, and the device indicates that the data transfers are all 
working well, then I don't see what more can be fixed (at this level, 
anyway).
