It works but I agree it's a bit ugly.

Not urgent at all, so don't worry about it too much :-)  With 2.4 being in 
deep freeze, I'm not expecting merge of the Xen into the official tree.  For 
my purposes, I can add a patch into the XenLinux 2.4 build process.

However, I thought it might also fix builds with non-PCI USB controllers.  I 
don't understand how they can possibly build hcd.c without using something 
similar to the patch I posted...?
