I have a problem using my iPod mini (4GB) with linux.

It is connected via an usb cable to an IBM Thinkpad T42p (usb2).

It works pretty good, but if i try to upload mor than 3GB some error
occurs and it takes a long time to copy tiles.

Here is the output of /var/log/messages:

Jan 24 09:51:27 erwin kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector
5598885
Jan 24 09:51:35 erwin kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector
5598889
Jan 24 09:51:43 erwin kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector
5598893
Jan 24 09:51:51 erwin kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector
5598897
Jan 24 09:51:58 erwin kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector
5598901
....

This goes to sector about 6200000.

Maybe the iPod disk is corrupted?
Please help, the last chance is to get a new one, but i want to be
sure, that there is something wrong with it.

Regards, Frank
