I just tried the new 2.6.11-rc4 kernel and the lookup doesn't exist anymore... 

but this time I got the following new error messages in the log:

usb 4-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
usb 4-1: khubd timed out on ep0in
usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 4-1: khubd timed out on ep0in
usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110

Suggestions?
