Hello Alan Stern , I tried the same kernel "2.6.5-7.97-smp" SuSE and it gives no errors .
Since I need to use the same Linux kernel could you let me know why it should not work on 2.6.9 Enterprise Edition . What is the problem due to which the USB core is unable to read these descriptors.
