Thanks.  Personally, I choose option #1.  I could do the adaptation
myself (as you probably could too), but as I understand it, there
has been some work done in adapting the 116x driver for the
ISP1362. 

Lothar, you've done some work on this, right?
I would like to try this out; I would prefer not to duplicate any
effort, especially if I'll use your version in the end anyways.

Do you have a patch you could send to the list?

I do appreciate the effort you and others (especially Olav)
have put into this.
