You should actually try that with two usbnet patches ... the one I posted is known to work on one device, but there was also a followup patch to make it ignore one of the bits that was being set. (One of many reasons that particular pseudo-MDLM protocol is borked...) And when you post kernel log messages, please make sure that's the "dmesg" output with CONFIG_USB_DEBUG defined ... What I'll do is post a replacement patch, merging both usbnet patches with whatever else seems necessary.
