I had to put the card in to get the full output of lspci, and when I did that...it worked! No config. Just worked. The one thing that I did differently was not to disable the onboard USB in the BIOS when I put the card in this time.

Please post your kernel version, the whole lspci line with and without -n and info on what kind of device that F5U220 is.

btw: I have F5U222, "Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Notebook Card", which worked out-of-the-box for me. Is your device something similar?
