In spite of having used the language all my life, my knowledge of English grammar and style isn't 100% perfect. (Yes, that sentence is defective -- it appears to say that "my knowledge" has used the language.) I have a definite tendency to overuse commas, and I battle against this tendency by removing them in places where they don't appear to be necessary.
