Sure, and I'll send this mail to the list so that the developers can see that I'm not the only one with this issue. My guess is that it's a memory map issue of some sort, and that the bios or kernel is mistakenly protecting an area of RAM that the USB driver is trying to use. If I knew what address the ehci driver mapped to, I would try making sure that there weren't any conflicts, but I have no idea what it is, or even if that's the issue.

Maybe you could try removing two DIMM's and see if that fixes it? If so, then it would be quite likely that we are in the same boat. I would still recommend trying to get the subscription working just so that you can make your voice heard on the list (instead of having to go through me). Also, try sending a copy of your DMESG with 2GB's install and 4GB's installed. Also, are you running 64 bit or 32 bit, and which kernel?

Jon,

I'm very interested in your problem/solution; I see similar problems
with my MSI Neo4 Platinum SLI board. I have 4 GB of RAM, and never
thought about the RAM being a possible cause...

I am in the process of trying to subscribe to the developer's list,
just so that I can follow your thread. Having problems at
lists.sourceforge.net, though; would you please forward me any info
you have up to this point? I know it's a pain, and a lot to ask, but
I have a bad feeling that I'm in the same boat as you are...
