I didn't realize you were using 2.4.  It's not a good choice for new 
development work.  USB host drivers in 2.6 are considerably simpler.

The files that belong to the "core" subdirectory in 2.6 are present in 
drivers/usb in 2.4.

It won't work.  (You could recursively copy the whole of the linux-2.6.12 
folder into 2.4...  That would work.  :-))

ub doesn't exist in 2.4, only in 2.6.  Linux 2.6 contains "drivers/block",
