I sent Andrew Morton the patches to fix all the tty layer buffering
limits by replacing the flip buffers with kmalloc managed rings of
buffers. I've not heard back so I'll poke him about it again soon in
case it got eaten by OSDL's rather dodgy spam filters.

The tty layer btw is designed for batching rather than low latency.
