Which seemed to do a bit better. But it still locks and /var/log/messages throws a bunch of I/O errors. I'm running Ubuntu 5.10 Preview with a 2.6.12 kernel that I've recompiled without CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION. I'm going to see if I have any luck with a vanilla kernel.
