Such capability is very welcome, of course ... to the users of VMware,
which is not free, last I checked.

Also, the most of the utility of usbmon is how it is an "always-on"
kind of diagnostic capability. For example, Fedora Core 4 ships kernels
with it enabled. This way, the reproduction of problems with devices
is greatly simplified. The target system may not even have resources
to install and run an instance of VMware.

So, thanks for doing that work, but almost everyone else except you
continues to "have to use usbmon ... to dump the USB IO".
