You have to find out how to control the device. If
it's a HID device, it tells you.
It is HID; I get a /dev/usb/hiddev0 showing up, which produces pages of
garbage when I cat it and press the device's buttons.
Oh, and find a place where HID and input framework hackers congregate.
USB is simply the transport for the kind of work you are going to do.
It's like asking questions about SMTP on tcp-implementors.
