It might be good to update to a more current version of "lsusb". The CVS version should decode most of the descriptors this dump lists as "unrecognized" (in fact, so should lsusb 0.71 I think), as well as the new "video" class. Related point: I don't know who's maintaining "usbview" lately, but it'd be good if it could reuse the relevant "lsusb" code, so that it's not just "lsusb" users who get reasonably complete descriptor dumps. > Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0421:041e Nokia Mobile Phones > Device Descriptor: > bLength 18 > bDescriptorType 1 > bcdUSB 2.00 > bDeviceClass 2 Communications > bDeviceSubClass 0 > bDeviceProtocol 0 > bMaxPacketSize0 64 > idVendor 0x0421 Nokia Mobile Phones > idProduct 0x041e > bcdDevice 0.00 > iManufacturer 1 Nokia > iProduct 2 Nokia 6680 > ... > UNRECOGNIZED: 05 24 08 00 01 > ... > UNRECOGNIZED: 05 24 ab 05 15 ... except for that particular subtype 0xAB, that's not yet recognized by "lsusb". It's communications class, with subclass of 0xfe; does anyone know what that's supposed to mean? I see it's got a CDC union descriptor, coupling that interface with some bulk data. > ... > UNRECOGNIZED: 05 24 11 00 01 > ... > UNRECOGNIZED: 05 24 15 00 01 > ... > UNRECOGNIZED: 05 24 15 00 01 > ... etc ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
