I didn't mean to imply that it doesn't.  Sorry if you got that impression.

Actually this driver has been present in Linux 2.4 for a long time; there 
it's called the "alternate-UHCI" or "UHCI-JE" driver, or just uhci.  
Without question its handling of FSBR is less than ideal.

For the short run, maybe.  I have a long series of changes for uhci-hcd 
planned, and one of them is to make FSBR work more rationally.  Finding 
time to write those changes may take a while...
