Let's be clear.  There's no point looking at log messages for a working 
printer; the only thing that might help is log messages for when the 
printer stops working.  So far you haven't said whether _any_ of the logs 
you've posted showed what happens when the printer isn't working.

Note also that I know hardly anything about how the usblp driver works.  
You'd be much better off speaking with someone who understands more about 
it.  About the only help I might be able to provide is to figure out 
what's going wrong when you boot with the printer already turned on and it 
doesn't work.

When that happens, does the printer still show up in 
/proc/bus/usb/devices?

Also, if you do have a usbmon trace for a situation where the printer 
wasn't working, seeing it might help.
