Hello! I would like to start a C-Server for my USB-Device every time it is plugged on. I tried it using udev but this did not work.
I used as example to call the shell which starts eclipse: BUS="usb", SYSFS{serial}="1.0.0", NAME="usb/%k", SYMLINK= "usb/Moeller_HID_GW", PROGRAM="/usr/bin/eclipse" as keys in my 10-local.rule. What can be wrong here??? The funny thing is that if I start it with 'udevtest' the programm starts, but it doesn't when I plug in the device. Testing with udev I saw, that the process must be finised/closed/killed for going on to create the device knode. And that is not good!! How did you realize that to start a programm if it is plugged in? I just want that my C-Server starts if I plug on the device and it finishes i f the device is plugged of...
