Hello Everyone
I'm an old dude, closer to 70 than 60, who keeps his mind active by doing the
daily NY Times crossword puzzles and dinking around with Linux. I would like
to replace my old VHS-C camcorder with a new digital camcorder. I've noticed
that lots of them have a USB interface but never say weather it's 1.1 or 2.0.
I'm no linux expert, but I'm no newbie either My hardware is old, circa 2000,
and supports USB 1.1 only. I currently run Suse 9.1 Professional, I've
purchased 10.0 but haven't installed it yet.
My question is: Can any camcorders with USB interface download on a Ver 1.1
machine? Speed of download, at my age, is not an issue. It is my intent to
have a newer box built from the motherboard up, in the near future, but right
now, this is what I got.
Tyan Tiger MB with dual 600 MHz Pentium III
512 MB memory
60 GB Hard Disk, half unused
CD Read/Write, no DVD
Thanks in advance for any advice/reccommendations.
Larry
