I compared the two configs and nothing stood out immediately. Your best approach might be a binary search, starting with the SL10 config and changing some of the settings to match the 2.6.15-rc6 config until it fails. For the first step in the search you ought to be able to change lots of settings that are obviously unconnected with the USB problem.
