You don't have to say this, it is assumed.

You know that the generic driver has no flow control at all, and is not
good for any "real world" applications, right?  That might be why, under
a large load, you have problems.

Also, as you are using a RHEL kernel, I suggest you get support through
your Red Hat support contract, as there is nothing we can really do here
to help with this old kernel version, sorry.
