This is a well-known and very long-standing problem with the email configuration at sourceforge.net. Their system adds advertisements in plain text to the end of email messages, even if the body of the email uses a different sort of encoding. Of course this causes decoding errors when your email client tries to read it. The support people at sourceforge have known about this for years, and they don't seem to be in any hurry to fix it.
