My bugzilla account is setup for my primary mail address, but LKML was rejecting that address because my dynamic IP had been an open-relay in a previous life (damned windows worms), hence I had to use my university account. You're missing the point of the third suggestion.  In addition to adding a
NOGET quirk entry, the patch removes a call to usb_clear_halt which could be causing your problems.

Alright, I'll try the NOGET quirk with and without the patch from comment #19.

The information you need for the quirk entry is the manufacturer ID and the product ID codes. You can find these values in /proc/bus/usb/devices.

Thanks, I wasn't quite sure where to locate the vendor/device ID to place in the blacklist.
