I have 2.6.15.2 kernel. The connection was working fine, but then modem (it's my mobile phone, i'm using cdc-acm) rebooted suddenly. There were diffirent results in these cases. First time dmesg said: usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 4 drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: acm_ctrl_irq - usb_submit_urb failed with result -19 But next time oops occured and dmesg said: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000c printing eip: c0197af4 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0000 [#1] Modules linked in: ppdev ipv6 ppp_async crc_ccitt ppp_generic slhc floppy udf nls_koi8_r isofs zlib_inflate snd_rtctimer vmnet vmmon fglrx raw snd_es1938 snd_opl3_lib snd_hwdep snd_mpu401_uart snd_rawmidi snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss snd_intel8x0 snd_ac97_codec snd_ac97_bus snd_pcm snd_page_alloc parport_pc lp parport usblp iptable_filter ip_tables af_packet w83627hf hwmon_vid eeprom i2c_isa i2c_sis96x ide_cd cdrom loop reiser4 supermount snd_seq_oss snd_seq_midi_event snd_seq snd_timer snd_seq_device snd soundcore evdev joydev analog ns558 gameport sis_agp agpgart cdc_acm ehci_hcd ohci_hcd usbcore container CPU: 0 EIP: 0060:[<c0197af4>] Tainted: P VLI EFLAGS: 00010246 (2.6.15-ck3) EIP is at sysfs_hash_and_remove+0x43/0x123 eax: 00000000 ebx: c16f1b78 ecx: 00000000 edx: daf82000 esi: 00000000 edi: dffeb4e4 ebp: dffeb480 esp: daf83e18 ds: 007b es: 007b ss: 0068 Process pppd (pid: 19202, threadinfo=daf82000 task=cac89030) Stack: dffe7900 d09df5c4 d4ece688 d4ece680 dffeb4e4 dffeb480 c025e98a d544aee8 c9b84ae0 c9b84ae0 00000000 d4ece680 00000000 e086b5f8 de3ed980 c025e99f d4ece680 d5cab480 e086b5ae d4ece680 0a600000 d5cab480 e086b6af d5cab480 Call Trace: [<c025e98a>] class_device_del+0x11e/0x123 [<e086b5f8>] acm_tty_close+0x0/0xb9 [cdc_acm] [<c025e99f>] class_device_unregister+0x10/0x1d [<e086b5ae>] acm_tty_unregister+0x1f/0x69 [cdc_acm] [<e086b6af>] acm_tty_close+0xb7/0xb9 [cdc_acm] [<c023ec9e>] release_dev+0x681/0x7ba [<c016f8cd>] __posix_lock_file+0x2b0/0x639 [<c0170de4>] fcntl_setlk+0x2a0/0x358 [<e199c5bd>] ppp_ccp_closed+0x6e/0xe5 [ppp_generic] [<c0171d90>] dput+0x5d/0x1ce [<c023f294>] tty_release+0xf/0x15 [<c015c1b0>] [EMAIL PROTECTED]/0x17d [<c015a7b7>] filp_close+0x46/0x87 [<c015a84b>] sys_close+0x53/0x69 [<c0102e57>] sysenter_past_esp+0x54/0x75 Code: 58 08 8b 70 50 85 db 75 14 8b 5c 24 08 8b 74 24 0c 8b 7c 24 10 8b 6c 24 14 83 c4 18 c3 e8 78 75 15 00 ff 4b 70 0f 88 e0 00 00 00 <8b> 56 0c 8d 6a fc 8b 45 04 0f 18 00 90 8d 5e 0c eb 0f 8b 55 04 <6>usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 8 cdc_acm 3-1:1.0: ttyACM1: USB ACM device usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 8 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
