Hi All
I have been using a Tyan Tiger 100 motherboard with built-in USB 1.1 for
several years with no problems. Now comes the time that I want to upgrade my
digital camera, Olympus C2100UZ to Olympus Evolt E-500, and it has a USB 2.0
connector cable. I also use an Epson printer on the 1.1 bus.
That poses the following questions:
1. If I install a 2.0 PCI card can I still use 1.1 for my printer & C2100UZ?
2. If I can use a PCI card, any recommendations?
(A) I looked at a 2-port Adaptec AVA-2000A, might it work?
3. I know it sounds dumb but can I just use the same C2100UZ connector cable?
Currently, I'm using a vanilla Suse Linux 9.1 Professional, and have had zero
problems using USB 1.1 nor Gphoto2. I have Suse 10.0 but haven't installed
it.
Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated. Please don't flame the dumb
questions, I'm an old retired dude, maybe old enough to be your Grand Dad.
