So presumably there's some simple place to force the driver to recognize
this device?  I tried this with the omninet driver (it was trivial to do
there) and the basic functionality of the modem seemed to be there,
however I still had the problems (with outgoing voice, line-speeds(?))
that I mentioned in my initial posting.
