So presumably this happens when khubd hasn't finished aborting some
pending transfers, and the device disconnect happens.  That is, some
handshake is either missing or not done correctly.

So the real fix would involve finding  out how the "eject HC" (CardBus?)
case is interacting wrongly with the other cleanup code, and then making
that behave properly.
