I prefer to see patches against GIT from kernel.org.  Right now, that'd
be the appropriate answer.

However, if we're in a period where there are lots of USB patches queued
up in http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/gregkh/gregkh-2.6/ that
haven't yet gotten out of the MM tree, it may be important to patch against
the MM tree or even (if Greg's patches haven't yet gone into MM) against
previous-Linus-RC-plus-greg's-patches.  Sometimes there's even a delay you'd
have to worry about before patches get merged to Greg's queue... For now 
there seem to be no pending EHCI patches in any of those places.
