Thank you for your pointers to the tools to diagnose this. I was
looking for an opportunity to install them and capture the required data
when I tried this device on the latest Kubuntu and discovered that it
works there. I will assume that support will be forthcoming in a future
update to RHEL4 or I will pursue it with Red Hat.

Thanks,

Scott

Subject: Linux Support for a Memorex Traveldrive ID

Hi all,

I was told that this list was the appropriate venue for my request -- if
not, please redirect me to the appropriate place. I'm hoping to find
someone to help implement Linux support for a currently unsupported
flash memory drive.

The drive in question is the Memorex Traveldrive ID
(http://www.memorex.com/html/products_detail.php?section=3&CID=12&SID=16
&PID=1008&FID=153&opento=12). It is rather quirky even in Windows. It
has an LCD display that shows a name and the amount of storage
remaining. It displays in Windows as two drives: A 2 MB "cdrom" that
has a management utility for the LCD panel, and a removable media drive
containing the remaining space for user files. In my RHEL4
installation, only the 2 MB "cdrom" is seen and able to be mounted. I
have not found a way to access the user files.

I have a file giving all the system information I knew to gather but I
didn't know if this list accepts attachments or if it would be
considered appropriate to post here. I can send it in a followup
message, or email it directly to those who need it. If there is a
specific list of commands I should run to gather the information that
would be needed, I will gladly do so.

I don't really care about the LCD utility, I just want to be able to
mount and use it in both Linux and Windows.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Scott
