here is the info you requested.  i got it with my 2.6.15 running as
well as 2.6.18.  the dmesg's are different but the lsusb's are the
same.
just a guess, i think that this line from lsusb

bMaxPacketSize0        64
##
should be 2048 for evdo cards, if this is the same as my maxSize
