The contents of the patch look fine, but it doesn't follow the patch
submission guidelines. Specifically:

  - You should add a signed-off-by line (see Documentation/SubmittingPatches)
  - You should do your diff from outside the root of the tree so that when
sitting in the tree someone needs to use -p1 to patch.
