>From the dmesg log, it appears that the Python program is sending a message to the device which causes it to crash. Are you certain that the same programs are running on both machines and are sending the same messages? Suggestion: Use usbmon to see the data being sent (instructions in the kernel source file Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt).
