Either is fine with me (note that I disagree with Alan about the
GPL-ness issues around firmware that run on a different processor.)

I agree, you have precedence here, but also note that almost all distros
already have the firmware scripts, and packaging up the firmware isn't
that hard for everyone to pick up, but it is yet-another-thing that you
need to send out to all the distros...

So, feel free to add them to the driver if you think that is easier.
