In a post to the linux-uvc-devel mailing list from 18/01 the author 
(Laurent Pinchart) said:

So maybe it will be ready for the 2.6.21 cycle...

I know that lot of users (including myself) have been using the driver 
with success for a while now, so it should certainly be useful for a 
larger audience.
