Hi Neil,

Thanks for your input -- much appreciated!

I think we've got the Earthmate (pre-LT-20 and LT-20) devices well covered but
I certainly wouldn't turn down another test point! :^)

Which Earthmate do you have? PID 0x0100 (non-LT-20) or PID 0x0200 (LT-20). I
assume the former, given that you're the earliest author of the driver.

What I'd really like to find (either to buy or to have someone test), as you
can see in my reply to Mike Isely, is one of those Cypress-based USB/RS-232
adapters ("HID->COM", USB VID/PID: 0x04b4/0x5500).

There are 4 devices supported by the 'cypress_m8' module: the 2 Earthmates,
the USB/RS-232 adapter, and some sort of Nokia "CA-42" (cellphone?)
cable/adapter.

I'd rest better if we could test with at least those first 3 devices before
making any serious module changes.

In a pinch, though, barring any revelations and/or hardware availability
discoveries, I'd settle for a simple check of the USB VID/PID of the LT-20
GPS receiver to make the module start working again.

I'm kind of surprised that it seems the norm (per Greg KH's message) that this
is done the way it is (i.e. no change to revision). Either way, I intend to
bump the revision number to "1.10" if my VID/PID-check patch (which includes
some other trivial indentation/whitespace fixes) makes it into mainline.

Thanks again for your input, Neil!
