This still sounds a lot like Len Brown's problem. He also found that a device would work if ohci-hcd was loaded first but not if ehci-hcd came first. In his case the device was an internal hub in his laptops's docking station. It might be a good idea for you to post the log messages, even if they don't seem to make sense. You never know, maybe it will help somebody to figure out the cause of the problem. You also might want to raise the question about ACPI and the PS/2 keyboard on the ACPI development mailing list.
