Hi all,

I am experiencing strange problems with the above mouse. It is a 'it
works once or twice' thing: The machine boots, everything is recognized
alright, X is started, I can logon and work and everything is fine. But
logging off from the X session or just switching to a text console kills
the mouse and I can not use it again without rebooting. Note further
that this does not necessarily happen the first time but maybe only the
second or third.

I checked the list archive but have not been able to find anything, so
any help is highly appreciated!

The system details are as follows:

Distribution: Debian 2.2
System: Linux 2.4.2-ac18 i686 unknown or Linux 2.4.2-ac17 i686 unknown
C library: C library 2.2-5
C compiler: 2.95.2

Hardware is an ASUS K7V motherboard (VIA chip set), BIOS versions
1008.01c/1008.01d

I have been using a USB scanner for about half a year without a problem.

I think the problem might perhaps be that the USB subsystem initialises
the mouse correctly on boot with 1.5 MB/s but tries to use 12 MB/s on
later attempts which fails. But maybe I am totally wrong here...

Best regards,

    Andree
