The mouse works perfectly in a Win98 PC.
It is strange that I get that error when I unplug my usb mouse. Shouldn't the
usb hub.c realize that I'm "unplugging" a usb device? It seems that it missed
the
"unplug" event and thinks that the device has just dissappeared...

I did read all of that, and have followed all of the steps. The kernel does
seem to
see the usb mouse as when I start gpm I don't get the "oops" message. Also, if
I
cat /dev/input/mice it patiently waits for data to echo to the screen. If the
device
wasn't registered with the kernel neither of these positive indicators would
have
happened.
I am running 2.4.2.ac17... I'll try 2.4.2-ac20 tomorrow and post if that
works.
