I can plug in my SanDisk ImageMate (sddr09) and the usb subsystem detects it,
but says it is not claimed by any driver:

kernel: usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x781/0x200) is not claimed by any active
driver.

I have followed the instructions found at <http://www.theneals.net/linux/SDDR09-HOWTO>

The appropriate configuration choices were set as recommended in the above document.

my kernel is version 2.4.2-ac19

Here is the relevant chunk from /proc/bus/usb/devices:

T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=02 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 5 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=16 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0781 ProdID=0200 Rev= 2.08
S: Manufacturer=SanDisk
S: Product=USB SSFDC
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 2 Ivl= 32ms

I have tried compiling usb support as modules, as well as compiling it into
the kernel statically, the results seem to be the same.

Does anyone have any idea what I might be missing or what I can do to get a
better idea of why it is failing?

Any assistance would be most appreciated.
