Not a chance on that statement.
Have you performed the steps described in the USB Guide (linked off
http://www.linux-usb.org) for USB ACM modems? What didn't work?
Where are the descriptors? What kernel configuration? What modem? Do
other devices work? Does a RS232 modem work?
