Thank you. I did overlook the "experimental drivers" option. I did get the
USB core and Mass storage modules compiled and loaded. At this stage this
device is supported only in module form. It cannot be compiled into the kernel.
The modules I need to "insmod" were usbcore.o, usb-uhci.o and usb-storage.o
After loading the modules I could mount the Compact Flash reader as a disk
and access the files.
Thank you once again for pointing out the missed step for the kernel compile.
