hello,
after asking around about the various USB modems available here in
Firenze, Italy, I got a positive answer from Digicom, saying that their
USB modems _do_support_ ACM. Moreover, this model is nicely small, and
supports V92; so I went and bought one.
Now please tell me, does this resemble ACM to anybody ???

I found that part of the Win driver is by Conexant, so I suppose it has a
Conexant chip. Conexant produces two V92 chips, but I don't understand
their slang enough to decide whether they are winmodem chips or not.
Any help is welcome - I've tried to relax the matches in acm.c to accept
class 0xff, but then I'm stuck again.. I have not received any further
information from their support.
Cheers,
Sergio
PS in case it matters: RH7, kernel 2.4.2, just a bit of experience with
kernel programming
