The right kind of stubs could really help with a USB "shim" layer. Orinoco could 
maybe be split into four parts:
1. Driver proper
2. PCMCIA bottom end (maybe there could be two - kernel pcmcia and pcmcia_cs)
3. PCI / iMac airport carts (maybe this would be two parts as well)
4. USB

I will try and coordinate this with Dave, Ben H, Jean and you, and see what I can
come up with. 
This is OT for linux-usb-users, so I will direct followups just to Tom - if anyone
else wants to work on this, let me know, and I will keep you in the loop.
