Hi.
I've recently purchased my first USB devices, and am trying to get them
set up and working on my linux box. If someone has the time, could they
possibly talk me through what the following error messages ( as attached )
mean?
The machine is an SMP build of the 2.4.1-0.1.9 kernel, using the non-
alternate UHCI stack, and the problem seems to revolve around a timeout
while assigning the devices ID numbers. Cabling looks fine.
I've attached the output of dmesg, and the errors visible at the end
can easily be reproduced by unplugging and replugging either one of the
devices ( one is a Vuego Scan 640U flatbed scanner, the other a logitech
quickcam ).
Grepping this attachment for relevant information reveals the following:
( grep -i usb boot.log )

If anyone could help me out, I'd be most greatful to hear from them.
Thank you,
Bryn Davies.
