I am having no luck getting the module
usb-ohci to load. It always gives me a irq/io error. Heres what I
have:
AMD 756 chipset onboard a Gigabyte
7IXE(OHCI)
Kernel version 2.4.3 (stable)
Latest hotplug script
Latest usbutils, pciutils, modutils
All usb support is set modular
Since hotplug clears the usb files system
and any loaded modules when it errors on usb-ohci, I tried
manually to do what it performs in the usb.rc. I first loaded module
usbcore and then mounted /proc/bus/usb. Driver and Devices files appeared
in the directory. I then tried loading usb-ohci where I recieved the
error. Also tried uhci and usb-uhci and recieved the same error. Is
there a better way to debug this? lsmod shows I am unable to get any of
the three hubs working. The ports are good since I use them in windows all
the time (mouse is plugged into usb).
Any help would be appreciated. My computer
looks a bit wierd having two mice attached (like a cat with two
tails!!)
