Tried modprobe and still nothing showed up in the /dev folder so I could start using the cable. This is just kernel 2.4.4 on a RH 6.2 system. Haven't update any other system files... but /devfs is configured too... hurm... Nothing is showing up in /var/log/messages either. -Ed ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wolfgang Grandegger" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Edward Baichtal" Sent: Monday, May 07, 2001 1:03 AM Subject: Re: [Linux-usb-users] USB-232: USB to RS232 converter > maybe you need to load the USB serial driver and the MCT > driver using: > > modprobe usb-serial (or usbserial) > modprobe mct_u232 > > You should also find more MCT related messages in > /var/log/messages. > > Edward Baichtal wrote: > > > > This message was sent from Geocrawler.com by "Edward Baichtal" > > > > Actually I was having a problem with the U232_P9 > > model working with kernel 2.4.4.
