Well I finally heard back from Xircom and they are not willing to release
any technical details or provide any assistance in getting the device to
work under Linux.

This usb-serial device isn't currently supported under Linux.  You need
to get the specs from the manufacturer, or reverse engineer the protocol
by sniffing a Windows connection to get a driver to work on Linux.
