My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 870 with both USB and // ports. The
printer
works just fine using the // port.
When I try to switch on the printer (USB cable attached to a USB hub,
although same thing
happened when attached directly to a USB port on the PC) I get:
printer.c: usblp0: device node registration failed
Here below is the boot sequence related to USB and the error msg when I
switched on the
printer.
I have got 2 USB ports on my PC, I have a USB hub on each of them (both
4 ports).
Where does this "node registration failure" come from?
Also I am running Mandrake 8.0 (kernel 2.4.3)
